Earth Day 2012 is less than a month away. Whether your business is “green” or you’re a business owner who likes to support earth-friendly causes, here are some ways to use eco-friendly tote bags to get your green message across to customers.
For brick-and-mortar stores:
- If you’re a brick-and-mortar retailer, make eco-friendly tote bags available for people to use instead of shopping carts.
- Hold an in-store contest where you fill a few eco-friendly tote bags with all sorts of fun earth-friendly goods that people can enter to win (for free) at the cash register. Or if you want to take it a step further, you could sell one-dollar raffle tickets as a way for people to enter the contest, and the money could support an earth-friendly charity that your business endorses. The latter idea could get great mileage, since it’s something you can talk up in social media and on your website. AND it’s something the charity itself might be willing to mention in its social media circles and on its website, thus providing even more exposure for your company.
- Do a promotion where you hand deliver a green tote bag with a plant or baby tree to targeted customers/clients and include a note about the different ways your company supports the environment.
- Offer the eco-friendly bags as “leave behinds” during the month of April when sales people go on their calls. Fill the bag with company literature that’s been printed on recycled paper. Or go even more hi-tech and simply include a custom USB flash drive that has a file with your brochures and sales presentation.
